According to a survey conducted in June 2023 among consumers in China, over two thirds of respondents selected quality as a decision-making factor for choosing China-chic beauty and cosmetic products. Meanwhile, more than half of the respondents reported that they would consider the price, effects or ingredients when selecting Guochao cosmetics.

"China-chic", also known as "Guochao", is a consumption trend where consumers favor products with Chinese characteristics as well as trendy domestic goods. It is also used as a term to describe products integrated with traditional cultural elements.
