According to a survey conducted in Southeast Asia in July and August 2024, floods were the most commonly perceived extreme weather event linked to climate change among respondents in the majority of Southeast Asian countries. Nearly three-quarters of respondents in the Philippines identified floods and tropical storms as the most serious climate change impacts in their country, while over 82 percent of respondents in Singapore cited heatwaves as one of the leading climate change impacts in their country.
