In June 2024, a survey conducted following the national and provincial election results in South Africa found that 40.2 percent of respondents favored a coalition between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA), together with a Multi-Party Charter (MPC). The second preferred option was an ANC and uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party alliance, with around 20 percent.

Question asked in the survey: "Which coalition would you prefer to govern the country?"
The source made use of random digit dialing (RDD), whereby random telephone numbers were chosen from all the possible numbers in South Africa.
Data collected is weighted according to the national statistics on gender, age, and province, and leaves a margin of error of three percent at the 95 percent confidence interval.
* MPC stands for Multi-Party Charter, which is a pre-election agreement signed between the leaders of the Democratic Alliance (DA), the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Vreyheidsfront Plus (VFPlus), United Independent Movement (UIM), Spectrum National Party and Isanco. The aim of this alliance was to remove the ANC from power and avoid an ANC-EFF coalition. The parties in the MPC have also extended an invitation to other parties to join them. ActionSA was part of the agreement but recently withdrew thier membership as the MPC is now open to working with the ANC and ActionSA wants no part of this arrangement.
The source states that ANC-DA-MPC is based on pooled votes for ANC-DA and ANC-MPC.
