Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's party recorded the best performance compared to the previous elections in 2019, when it secured only six members of the Parliament (MEPs). The Democratic Party, which belongs to the S&D group, is the second most-represented faction with 21 MEPs, in line with the 2019 result. The Five-Star Movement and the League significantly lost their representation, with a respective decline of six and 21 MEPs. To elect MEPs, parties had to overcome a four percent electoral threshold.
