As of September 2023, approximately 39 percent of marketers surveyed in the United States chose the messaging appearing in brand-safe environments as a big challenge of LGBTQ+ inclusive marketing. The same share of respondents selected the potential resistance or blowback from consumers. According to the same study, brand perception was the most important key performance indicator (KPI) to measure the success of LGBTQ+ inclusive marketing in the U.S.
