The British Championships, which were held on June 8 at Forres, Scotland, were the second major of the 2024 pipe band competition season. Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia won the Grade 1 competition, securing the first place from both piping adjudicators, second for drumming, and first for ensemble. Inveraray came in second, as they did in the UK championships in the preceding month, while Police Scotland Fife took the top rating for the best drum corps. This was the first British championship in two years, as the event was cancelled in 2023 due to sponsorship difficulties.
Scoring at pipe band competitions is determined by placement of judges. Points are added together, and the band with the lowest total score (due to placing highest) wins.
