From 46 percent in 1951, the voter turnout in the Indian general election 2024 jumped to over 65 percent. This was, however, a decline from the previous elections in 2019, which witnessed the highest-ever turnout since 1951. The total number of eligible voters in Indian general elections is estimated to be over 968 million.
