In 2023, some 63 percent of Egyptian women had an account with a bank, Egypt Post, mobile wallet, or a prepaid card. Over the observed period, the financial inclusion rate of women increased from around 19 percent in 2016, with the most significant increase happening in 2019. In 2023, over 20 million women held accounts enabling them to engage in transactions.
