According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2023, around 41 percent of respondents neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement that the national emission trading scheme (K-ETS) strengthened domestic or international competitiveness through environmentally friendlier business operations. In comparison, nearly 25 percent agreed or strongly agreed with the statement for the same year.
