U.S. share of adults who think Trump's conviction will be overturned on appeal 2024
On May 30, Donald Trump was convicted on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records that could have compromised his 2016 presidential campaign. While his conviction may thwart his reelection efforts, he remains eligible to run. His sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2024. However, following his sentence, he will most likely appeal the verdict, which could prolong the process well into the new presidential term. According to a May 31, 2024 survey, over one-third of Americans surveyed believed that Donald Trump's conviction will likely be overturned on appeal.
