As of 2023, Kenya had a total of 29 climate tech startups that raised over 100,000 U.S. dollars, the highest in Africa. Nigeria followed with 22 startups, while South Africa ranked third with 11 startups. Overall, the countries with some of the lowest climate tech funding were DRC, Senegal, and Benin.
