Consumer trust in contributors to the food supply system Australia 2023
In a survey conducted in the Australia and New Zealand region in 2023 regarding food safety, around 83 percent of respondents indicated they trusted farmers and producers to do their part in ensuring that all food sold in shops and supermarkets across the country is safe to consume. In comparison, only 57 percent of those surveyed expressed a high level of trust in manufacturers and processors to do the same, and around 62 percent of respondents had faith in retailers in terms of food safety assurance.
