Southeast Asia has some 200 oil and gas wells offshore that are expected to become inactive by 2030. The costs associated with decommissioning these structures is estimated to range between 30 and up to 100 billion U.S. dollars. By comparison, decommissioning costs in Australia are estimated to reach approximately 40 billion U.S. dollars.
