In 2023, Africa's startups raised 3.4 billion U.S. dollars in funding. The value peaked in 2022, at five billion U.S. dollars, and was lowest in 2019, at 1.4 billion U.S. dollars. Furthermore, Eastern Africa received the highest funding on the continent, accumulating 880 million U.S. dollars in 2023.
