Rural and urban inequalities in households MPCE India 2023, by fractile classes
In 2022-23, there was an increase in inequality among the bottom three consumption groups. In the lowest consumption group of 0-5%, the rural-urban difference was 34% in 2011-12 and has now increased to 46% in 2022-23. However, there is a reduction of the rural-urban inequality among the rest of the consumption groups.
