The share of renewables in Brazil's electricity generation is forecast to decrease from 77 percent in 2021 to 68 percent in 2050 in a scenario based on the historic trajectory of the country's energy sector. If additional measures are taken to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the share of renewables in electricity production is projected to reach roughly 80 percent that year.
