In 2023, the total value of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the oil and gas industry surpassed 250 billion U.S. dollars worldwide. The United States alone contributed 199 billion, which was more than three times the value of 2022. In second place, Canada had an M&A deal value of over nine billion U.S. dollars.
