According to a survey conducted in May 2024, almost 15 percent of cloud service operators in Japan do not make it clear through a contract or agreement how they handle customer data after the termination of a cloud service. While some of those companies go on to delete the data, others answered that they wait for inquiries or were asked to store the data after the termination of the service.
