Between November 2020 and 2023, the number of video services per video user significantly increased in the U.S. and the UK. In the United States, the average number of free video or advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) services went from 4.1 in late 2021 to over seven towards the end of 2023. While the use of SVOD increased in the two years after the outbreak of the coronavirus, the number of services declined by 2023. The same trend can be observed in the United Kingdom, although the amount of video platforms viewers used was generally lower.
