The German government replaced the unemployment benefit “Hartz IV” with the citizen's benefit in 2022, which would increase the standard amount by 53 euros per month. 44 percent of respondents in Germany said that they felt this increase was just right, in November 2022. In contrast, 23 percent found it too generous, while 26 percent thought the increase was too little.
