Rate of salary increase for shipbuilding workers South Korea 2021-2023

As of 2023, the salaries of workers at the five major shipbuilding companies in South Korea had increased by more than 7.5 percent. The leading domestic shipbuilding companies comprise HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, HD Hyundai Samho, and HD Hyundai Mipo. There have been concerted efforts among the companies, associations, and the government to improve the working conditions of the South Korean shipbuilding industry.
