The employment rate rose by to around 82.1 percent in 2023. Despite a declining economy and high inflation due to the war in Ukraine, the labor market in Germany remained relatively robust, and the employment rate rose by 0.2 percent. The labor force participation of women has increased continuously in recent years. The employment rate of women is converging towards the employment rate of men and is more than 15 percentage points higher than it was ten years ago.
