Get in touch with us nowAs of 2024, 202 women sit in the Italian Parliament, 128 in the Chamber of Deputies and 74 in the Senate, accounting for around one-third of the total members of the Parliament (MPs). Brothers of Italy has the largest female representation with 55 women elected, including Giorgia Meloni, the party's leader and the first Italian female Prime Minister. The Democratic Party and the Five-Star Movement follow with 36 and 35 female MPs, respectively. Compared to the total group representatives, Italia Viva and Action are the parties with the largest share of women, with 50 percent of their MPs. Currently, two women serve as senators for life, the pharmacologist Elena Cattaneo and the holocaust survivor Liliana Segre.
