The average number of episodes per season in American scripted TV shows decreased throughout the years. In 2018, network television had an average of 15.4 episodes per season, while in 2013 this number dropped to 10.2. A similar trend could be observed with TV series on streaming platforms. In general, the number of episodes on streaming services were lower than those on traditional TV in each year.
