YouTube: number of comments 2024, by video format

In the first quarter of 2024, YouTube long-format videos collected more comments than the short-form videos on the platform. On average, YouTube saw users leave around four comments per long-form video. In comparison, YouTube Shorts appeared not to attract the same level of interactions, less than one comment per video on average.
