Share of Canadians who were heavy alcohol drinkers 2022, by gender and province
In 2022, some 31.4 percent of men and 18.7 percent of women residing in Newfoundland and Labrador were considered heavy drinkers, the share was significantly higher than the average for both genders in Canada. Males who consumed five or more drinks, or females who consumed four or more drinks, on one occasion at least once a month in the past year were considered heavy alcohol drinkers.
