According to a survey done in the U.S. in December 2023, approximately six in ten adults were in support of the legalization of abortion. Hawaii, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Vermont were the leading four states where more than 75 percent of residents supported abortion rights. On the other hand, Idaho and Utah, both with 45 percent, had the lowest share of residents supporting abortion rights. In general, residents of U.S. states projected to be Democrats in the 2024 elections were more likely to support abortion legalization.
