Get in touch with us nowAbout 40 percent of newly engaged couples in the United Kingdom (UK) stated during a survey that they would regard their wedding venue or suppliers positively if they had a green policy. About a quarter of respondents said they did not care either way if they supported sustainable practices.
While newly engaged couples would like their wedding venue to have a green policy, sustainability was not the most important factor couples considered when choosing a wedding venue. In fact, sustainability was not even one of the top five factors that couples considered in 2024. Still, engaged couples were willing to spend an average of 6,000 to 10,000 British pounds for wedding venues, and thousands of dollars for other suppliers in 2023. As such, it benefits both venues and suppliers to be regarded favorably when it comes to sustainability.
Green wedding venues are not the only way engaged couples have been making sustainability a priority. In 2023, couples in the UK incorporated second-hand or vintage wedding fashion elements, like jewelry or veils, into their weddings. Vintage jewelry was especially popular with Gen Z couples.
