Coffee is gaining more popularity among Chinese consumers. In 2023, the retail sales value of ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee hit 15.7 billion yuan. Despite being the smallest product category in the Chinese RTD beverage retail sales, RTD coffee recorded a six percent of compound annual growth rate between 2018 and 2023—the third-fastest growing RTD drink segment. The market expansion was expected to slow down to 3.3 percent between 2023 and 2028, passing 18 billion yuan.
