During a global survey, consumers were informed that online advertising they saw on their devices per month generates the same amount of carbon dioxide emissions as a light bulb continuously burning for 10 days. Over 60 percent said it was more or significantly more than they had thought. On the other hand, 21 percent said it was less or significantly less than they had thought.

The survey was carried out among internet users from the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Poland, South Africa, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
