The sales value of ad-supported music video streaming in Japan decreased from 6.57 billion Japanese yen in 2022 to 6.19 billion yen in 2023. It was the first year-on-year decrease after several years of growth. Next to subscription-based audio, subscription-based music videos, and ad-supported audio, ad-supported music video streaming is one of the segments of the music streaming market. As a breakdown of the music streaming market shows, subscription-based audio is by far the largest segment of the market.
