As of 2022, the rate of vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC) delivery in the U.S. was 14.6 percent. That is, roughly one in seven women who had a previous c-section gave birth vaginally instead of another c-section. While there are some risks, VBAC delivery is safe and recommended when certain factors are taken into consideration, such as the type of incision, number of c-sections, time between births etc.
