Average annual EU-ETS emissions allowance prices 2020-2023

The average annual price of European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowances more than tripled between 2020 and 2023, to 83.66 euros. EU ETS carbon allowances are forecast to rise to almost 150 euros by the end of the decade. Each EU ETS emissions allowance (EUA) gives the holder the right to emit one metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent.
