According to a survey in 2024 on online shopping behavior among Indians, quick delivery was the main reason for the majority of the respondents to stick to a particular shopping app or platform. However, 54 percent of the respondents from the rest of India looked for attractive offers and prices. On the other hand, brand trust and reliability were the primary reasons for 48 percent of urban residents to stick to a shopping platform.
Reasons for consumers favoring a shopping app in India from November 2023 to January 2024
Urban dwellers comprised of the metro (population over 50 lakhs) and Tier 1 cities (population between 10–50 lakhs), which include Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Surat, Nashik, Nagpur, Bhopal, Allahabad, Jaipur, Madurai, Mysore, Kochi, Bhubaneswar, Indore, Chandigarh.
Rest of India comprised of Tier 2/3/4 cities, which include Aizawl, Sangli, Solapur, Jhansi, Ferozabad, Nellore, Kasaragod, Siliguri, Sagar, Darjeeling, Hingoli, Nagda, Bhatinda, Sohna, Thiruvallur, Idukki, Sahibganj.
One Indian rupee is equal to 0.011 euros and 0.012 dollars (as of April 2024).
