According to a study conducted in 2024, if the energy industry in Germany accelerated their rate of digitalization, there would bea potential for 26.4 million tons of CO2 to be saved by 2030. There was an especially large disparity between the amount of potential CO2 emissions saved in the manufacturing industry when it came to a standard and accelerated rate of digitalization.
