In Sweden, the number of youth suspected of murder in cases involving firearms increased since 2014, apart from a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, around half of the people suspected of murder in cases with firearms were between 15 and 20 years, underlining a worrying trend in Sweden where more youth become involved in gang-related crime.
