According to a survey conducted in April 2024, just a few weeks before the 2024 European Parliament elections, a total of 71 percent of the French respondents believed it was somewhat necessary to strengthen French sovereignty. On the other hand, around 55 percent of those surveyed thought European sovereignty should somewhat be strengthened as well.
