Atom Bank was not only the first app-only bank in the United Kingdom (UK), but also the first online-only bank to be granted a full UK regulatory license in 2015. From 2017 to 2021, Atom Bank reported a net operating expense, reaching its highest value at 16.89 million British pounds in 2020. The bank achieved a significant reduction in expenses in 2021, cutting them down to 1.5 million British pounds. Since 2022, it has started to report operating profit instead. The bank's net operating income in 2022 was 51.34 million British pounds, and it continued to grow, reaching 88.3 million British pounds in 2024.
