Wise, formerly known as TransferWise, was founded in 2011 and is one of the growing number of UK-based digital banks. Between 2018 and 2024, Wise saw its customer base increase rapidly, reaching 12.8 million customers in March 2024. Based on recent customer growth trends, the estimated customer number of Wise is forecast to grow further, reaching 17.7 million by the end of 2025.
