In 2023, the value of reserve money (M0) in Egypt amounted to almost 1.53 trillion Egyptian pounds (32 billion U.S. dollars). This was an increase compared to the previous year, when the reserve money stood at around 1.2 trillion Egyptian pounds (25 billion U.S. dollars).
Reserve money (M0) is the most liquid measure of money supply, and includes currency in circulation and bank deposits held by the Central Bank of Egypt.
