G20's public spending on clean energy and fossil fuels 2020-2022, by country
Canada was the G20 country with the highest international public financing of fossil fuel sources between 2020 and 2022. In this period, Canada spent an average of some 11 billion U.S. dollars per year supporting oil and gas projects. Meanwhile, France was the largest supporter of clean energy financing, at some 2.6 billion U.S. dollars.
