Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transaction volumes stood at approximately 2.51 million across Egypt in 2023. In 2021, the country witnessed its largest volume of transactions transferred via the RTGS system, with over 2.84 million. In terms of value, close to 172.8 trillion Egyptian pounds (equivalent to 3.59 trillion U.S. dollars) was the combined value of transactions conducted through RTGS.
