According to a survey conducted in March 2023 among Chinese consumers, 66.5 percent of respondents considered suitability for their skin type the most important factor to consider when buying skincare products. Quality and safety was also an important consideration for around 63.8 percent of respondents. By contrast, only 27.5 percent would pay attention to brand awareness when choosing skincare products.
