Australians are becoming more aware of the negatives effects of their single-use plastic consumption, with over 70 percent of consumers across Australia surveyed in April 2024 saying that they carry a reusable shopping bag when going out to shop to avoid non-durable plastic or paper bags. Around 53 percent of those surveyed reported reusing takeaway containers for storage purposes instead of disposing of them after one use.
