In 2021, China did not import any plastics waste. However, in 2017, the last year of plastic waste imports, the import value amounted to 180 U.S. dollars. From 2017 onward, the government banned the import of plastic waste, among other 24 types of solid waste and material that exceed a certain contamination level.
