Revenue of golf course businesses in Japan 2019-2023

In 2023, the revenue generated by golf course in Japan amounted to roughly 846.7 billion Japanese yen. The golf industry comprises the largest segment of the sports industry. Unlike the majority of sports, the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic had a beneficial effect on the golfing industry in Japan, both, in terms of generated revenue, and attendance.

Golfing equipment

Next to the golf-related facilities segment, golfing equipment retail is the other essential segment of the industry, generating revenue in worth of hundreds of billions of Japanese yen. From golf clubs to golf balls to shoes and gloves, there are numerous items that golfers can purchase. Golf apparel, as well as various types of golf clubs are the leading items in terms of domestic shipment value in Japan.
