According to a survey conducted in East Africa, 63 percent of respondents stated that they experienced fraud in 2022. Compared to the global average, this was 17 percentage points higher. This highlights that since 2020, global reports of economic crimes have been decreasing, whereas in East Africa they are on the rise.
