In Portugal, in 2023, the 10 most-watched television programs were all football matches. The one with the highest television audience was the match between SL Benfica and FC Porto, broadcast on RTP 1, which had 2.37 million viewers. The top three of the most-watched TV programs of the year was further filled by matches involving the national football team, facing Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.
