Atom Bank, the pioneering app-only bank in the UK and the first online bank to receive a full regulatory license, experienced a significant slowdown in customer acquisition between 2023 and 2024. Following a period of robust growth from 2018 to 2023, the bank added only 5,000 new customers in fiscal year 2024. As of March 2024, Atom Bank's customer base stood at 229,000. Based on its current growth trend, the bank is projected to reach approximately 237,000 customers by the end of 2025.
