Dublin's metropolitan area was the most congested metro area in 2023 in terms of congestion level. In the Dublin metro area, the average additional time lost to traffic was 54 percent more compared to driving in free-flow conditions. In addition, the Bengaluru metropolitan area was the second most congested metro area in the world, with a 53 percent congestion level.
